In Between

In Between  explores the dualities that shape the human experience. It lives in the space between joy and sorrow, love and loss, strength and fragility. These shifting emotional states reflect the paradox of being human. Our impermanence, our depth, and our longing to hold on to what cannot last. I became captivated by the idea that we can hold immense emotional vastness within us. We can love deeply and feel profound joy, only to experience canyons of grief and sorrow. We can feel fragile yet remain resilient in the face of suffering, and all that exists between birth and death. To me, this duality is very essence of what it means to be human, and a reminder that being human is nuanced and finite. Through this work, I reflect on my own experience of being human in hopes of creating space for connection, and shared understanding.
