Fragile Things began with 544 individual Van Dyke self-portraits, each measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches, hand-coated and hand-cut. I arranged them into the form of a card house, which stood in the gallery for the duration of 4our at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Somewhere between strength and vulnerability, a reminder of how carefully we hold ourselves together and how easily it can become undone.
